The China Center for Agricultural Policy (CCAP)

The China Center for Agricultural Policy, Peking University formerly known as the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CCAP), was founded in 1995 and is a scientific research institution dedicated to the strategic and applied research of China’s agriculture and rural areas.
The purpose of CCAP is to provide a scientific basis for the government to formulate agricultural and rural economic development policies through standardized and scientific research, thus contributing to China’s rural modernization. CCAP has always paid attention to team building and talent training, and is one of the first “Innovative Research Groups” funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. CCAP team’s members have been granted TWAS Fellow, IAAE Fellow, AAEA Fellow, The Yangtze Distinguished Professor, National Outstanding Youth Scientists and other awards.
In order to promote the development of agricultural economics, provide a scientific basis for the formulation of agricultural and rural economic development policies, and make contributions to the modernization of China’s agriculture and rural economy, the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences of Peking University introduced Jikun Huang’s team from the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to set up the China Center for Agricultural Policy, Peking University. The CCAP, Peking University promotes the development of agricultural economics and related applied economics disciplines through rigorous and scientific basic and applied research. To analyze the problems and challenges facing China’s agriculture and rural development and provide scientific basis for decision makers.
By the end of 2022, CCAP has published nearly 1,500 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, of which more than 800 in SCI or SSCI indexed international academic journals, including Science, Nature, Nature sub-journals, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, etc. A series of high-quality papers have also been published in top domestic journals such as Social Sciences in China Press, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World. At the same time, CCAP has published 45 books, of which 17 in English.
